Hallowed Ground??????? Obama Endorses The Constitution

There is has been quite a stir this past week about President Barack Obama endorsing the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

As you could see from the map, another "community center" is a block closer than hallowed ground.

From the conservative Washington TimesMuslims have been praying at hallowed ground for years.

Incidentally, the Ground Zero Mosque will be a block further than the titty bar.

Barack Obama Makes History

Barack Obama was projected President-Elect around 11 pm Eastern time on Tuesday evening November 4th, 2008. John McCain gracious in his defeat may have given one of his best speeches in concession. (Where was that John McCain the entire campaign.)

Gort provides a great view why conservatives should have voted for Obama.

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich outlines the challenges ahead when the real contest begins.

POLLS AND LOCAL RACES
My polls on the left indicate the trend of the evening. Carney defeated Hackett by a comfortable margin and Obama was a winner. Paul Kanjorski survived a close count in the PA 11th CD.
Obama has his work cut out for him. Debt with no bottom, two wars and heath care out of control just to start. One thing I will say for sure, I don't think there will be any Mike "Heckuva Job Brownie" Brown appointments.

Weren't They Called Service Stations at One Time?

Barack Obama discusses an upcoming Republican attack. Remember when you went into a full service station and they checked the oil and tires then cleaned the windshields. If not check out the scene in Back to the Future with Michael J. Fox.

Being Barack Obama

Courtesy of Rob Tornroe

First, McCain adopted Obama's longstanding notion of sending at least three additional combat brigades to Afghanistan, even after McCain said for years that Iraq was the central battleground in the war on terror.

Now, McCain says that he thinks Obama's 16-month timetable for withdrawing troops from Iraq is a "pretty good timetable."

Coming next week: McCain changes his position on the gas-tax holiday, calling it a "political gimmick."

Barack Obama on the gas tax

Half a tank of gas. That's [John McCain's] big solution...this is at the same time he is proposing hundreds of millions of dollars of more tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest Americans...that's typical of how Washington works, there's a problem, everybody's upset about gas prices, let's find some short-term, quick fix so that we can say we did something, even though we're not really doing anything...and then we pretend like we did something. So I'm here to tell you the truth. We could suspend the gas taxes for six months, but that's not going to bring down gas prices long term...we have to go after the oil prices and look at their price gouging, we've got to go after windfall profits...and we have to stop using less oil, that means raising fuel efficiency standards on cars, and developing alternative fuels, that's the real honest answer to how we're gonna solve this problem, that's what you need from a president, someone who's gonna tell you the truth, who's gonna tell you not what you want to hear, but what you need to hear.

Pa. Voters Divided Over Obama Remarks

But many more seem to think it was no big deal _ and if there's a problem it's with the political slapfest that has followed.
