Team USA to Play at Billtown!

The US Olympic Softball team will be in Williamsport to play at a sold out Bowman Field tonight at 7 pm. The women will take on a regional all-star team. I don't know who will be on the mound, but I expect Jennie Finch and Monica Abbot to share duties.

The game is sold out.

A few of the umpires for tonights game are from my local chapter. These men are very deserving their selection and have helped me numerous ways as I strive to become a better umpire. Good job, Strika!!!!!

Legendary Ty Stofflet resigns as Freedom softball coach

One of the greatest fastpitch pitchers of all time resigns from head coaching job. Stofflet resigned from his head coaching job of Freedom High School in Bethlehem.

The real story here is not of Stofflet's resigning, but the great performance minus one inning of Monica Abbott of Tennessee in the CWS. Fastpitch was a summer staple growing up in central PA my home a nine iron away from a field. I have met people that batted against Ty and they said how the ball would explode from that left side. Ty's record speaks for itself. Hopefully, Stofflet will be back in the game in some compacity soon.
